Meet your private guide at approximately 08:00 and travel from your Chengdu hotel to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Explore the public visitor areas with context from your guide. Animal locations, visibility, and activity vary with weather, season, husbandry, and the pandas themselves; no specific sighting is guaranteed.
Stop for lunch at your own expense before continuing to Du Fu Thatched Cottage, the memorial museum and garden associated with Tang poet Du Fu's years in Chengdu.
Continue to People's Park and take time to observe everyday Chengdu. Stop at a teahouse if you would like a break; tea and other drinks are paid separately.
Walk through Kuanzhai Alleys, where restored lanes now mix public space, shops, and food businesses. The stop is for orientation and free time, not a commissioned shopping visit.
Return to your Chengdu hotel within the confirmed service period. A Sichuan opera evening or a Sanxingdui substitution is not part of this base day.

What to bring for a Chengdu day
Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry water, a small umbrella or rain layer, and anything you need between vehicle stops. The panda base occupies the morning, so keep essentials in a light bag. At each stop, agree a meeting point with your guide before taking time on your own. Leave space in the afternoon for a rest rather than treating every lane as another place to cover.
Choosing food and planning the evening
Lunch is a separate purchase, giving you a choice during the day. Explain allergies or dietary restrictions before ordering and check ingredients with the restaurant. Kuanzhai Alleys offers time to browse, but buying food or souvenirs is optional. The tour returns to your hotel after the daytime visits. Leave a comfortable gap before independent evening plans; a Sichuan opera performance and its transport require separate arrangements.

Will we definitely see active giant pandas?
Animal visibility and activity cannot be guaranteed. The morning visit allows time in the public viewing areas, but the pandas may be resting or out of view. Follow your guide's advice and visitor rules. Holding, feeding, keeper access, and encounters with a particular panda are not included.
Is tea in People's Park included?
Tea is paid separately. Your guide can help you find a place to pause and communicate your order. A teahouse stop is a chance to rest during the afternoon and observe the park; choose your drink after checking the menu and price at the table.
Can Sanxingdui be added to the same day?
This day follows the panda base, Du Fu Thatched Cottage, People's Park, and Kuanzhai Alleys. Sanxingdui requires a different route with additional travel and museum time. Discuss it before booking so we can assess an alternative itinerary and admission availability, rather than trying to squeeze it into this day.
Is this route suitable for limited mobility?
There is substantial walking at the panda base and other stops. Share mobility needs before booking so we can check access, rest opportunities, and the suitability of the route. A private vehicle connects the sites, but it does not provide transport along every visitor path or through every attraction.
