Macau surprised me completely

Egg tarts, Portuguese ruins and glittering casinos all in one tiny place. Wandered the old town eating my way around and loved the East-meets-West feel. A delightful little detour.

Guangzhou dim sum heaven

Went on a serious dim sum mission and won. Yum cha for hours, char siu bao, har gow, the works. The city's mix of old temples and shiny towers kept me wide-eyed.

Foshan and the kung fu vibe

Explored the home of Wing Chun and Ip Man, watched a lion dance and ate fantastic Cantonese food. Felt like stepping into a martial arts film. Such a cool, happy detour.
