Slow start or early one, totally your call. a Miao-Dong market morning is roughly the heart of today, and we leave plenty of breathing room so nothing feels rushed. Food-wise, hold out for sour-fish hot pot — worth it. And here’s the bit that’s properly ours: a first introduction to Miao silver and batik. Most tours can’t get you in the room — we can.

We’ll build today loosely around the Xijiang hillside Miao village at dusk, at your pace and nobody else’s. Expect a small surprise or two your guide pulls out depending on the day. Miao sour soup sorts the eating.

Today’s the kind you’ll be showing people photos of later — a long-table Miao banquet, with the freedom to slow right down whenever something catches your eye. Lunch or dinner usually circles back to Miao sour soup. And here’s the bit that’s properly ours: Miao silver-smithing and Miao embroidery — a silversmith forge and an embroidery house. We’ll point you at a Miao paper-making and batik morning — and since it’s all yours, you linger where it grabs you and wander off when you’re ready. Somewhere in there, Miao mountain fare, the kind locals actually line up for, not the tourist version. And here’s the bit that’s properly ours: Miao wax-resist batik and ancient paper-making — hands-on with masters. Most tours can’t get you in the room — we can.

Today leans into the Zhaoxing drum towers and wind-rain bridges. No stopwatch — your guide reads the crowds, the light and frankly your mood, and shapes the day from there. When you get hungry, Dong sticky rice is the move.
