Touch down and just breathe — no rush today. Taiyuan is a soft landing, and your guide spends day one quietly working out your rhythm so the whole trip bends around you, not some script.

Day2 Taiyuan — Shanxi capital gateway
Slow start or early one, totally your call. the Shanxi Museum bronze halls is roughly the heart of today, and we leave plenty of breathing room so nothing feels rushed. Food-wise, hold out for Shanxi knife-cut noodles — worth it. And here’s the bit that’s properly ours: Shanxi paper-cut and lacquer introduction. Most tours can’t get you in the room — we can.

We’ll build today loosely around the Pingyao city wall and old banks, at your pace and nobody else’s. Expect a small surprise or two your guide pulls out depending on the day. Pingyao beef sorts the eating. And here’s the bit that’s properly ours: Pingyao push-light lacquerware and paper-cut — a lacquer master studio. Most tours can’t get you in the room — we can.

Today’s the kind you’ll be showing people photos of later — the Yungang Grottoes Buddhist caves, with the freedom to slow right down whenever something catches your eye. Lunch or dinner usually circles back to Shanxi knife-cut noodles. And here’s the bit that’s properly ours: Datong copperware and Shanxi paper-cut at a craft house.
